Music Buskers' Residency
Wednesday, December the 2nd at 8:30pm, the Final Project of Music Buskers' Residency was performed in the Carpintarias' space. This project was carried out by the selected artist Bruno Rocha Reis. He brought together the participants of the 5 creative workshops he had directed, which covered Live Looping, Circuit Bending, Free Improvisation, Vocal Improvisation and Soundpainting.
This was the culmination of a project that emerged as a socio-musical experimentation lab. An awakening of the senses, a challenging of ears and hearts, the study of sound and silence, chaos and order, as disparately complementary parts. A concert was the result of the last two months of this unprecedented residency. The workshops brought together all kinds of people, from musicians to curious individuals, of different nationalities, interests, backgrounds and training.
This concert aims to position the public as an active receiver of sound paintings and experiences, where virtuosity and improvisation meet. It deals with the dichotomic tension between Nature and Artifice, Acoustic and Digital, New and Old, Good and Bad, Big and Small, Peace and Revolution.
A living work of sound journeys with people from different life paths and parts of the world. Among professionals and amateurs, what connects them is music as a root, acceptance of error, the multicultural spectrum, co-creation and intersection of ideas and disciplines. Music as comm.unity.
THE PARTICIPANTS:
