OPERAFEST Lisboa

OperaFest 2020

Cine-Operas and Conferences
August 21 - September 11

In September, Carpintarias de São Lázaro will form a partnership with OperaFest Lisboa 1st edition - the new opera festival in the city. It will take place at both the MNAA gardens and Carpintarias, from August 21st to September 11th.

Ranging from the great classics to avant-garde opera, reaching out to all audiences in a variety of formats. OPERAFEST is born in a particularly challenging year, but with the heart and soul to offer the opera's excitement to everyone!

With the slogan "The worse, the better", evoking the tragic essence of opera - the launch of OPERAFEST takes place under the unifying theme of betrayal and deceit, as tragedy's instigators.

The game of life, from the constant dialectic between trust and its rupture, reaches the level of utopia with opera, singing the fascinating and tragic complexity of the human being!

Welcome to OPERAFEST Lisboa, welcome to the tragic world of opera!
