"O Regresso à Mouraria"
8th anniversary of "A Música Portuguesa a gostar dela própria"

The project "A Música Portuguesa a gostar dela própria" turns 8 years old in January, after more than 4000 recorded videos and almost 2100 different musical projects, ancient practices and soundscapes. The Project is currently on Antena 1, Antena 2 and RTP Memória, and has its own stage at Bons Sons Festival. For this year's anniversary it will be reviewing more than 100 recordings produced in Mouraria in 2014. These recordings inspired an episode about this neighborhood in the series O Povo que ainda Canta, produced in 2015 for RTP 2.
Taking advantage of the new cultural center, Carpintarias de São Lázaro's opening, director Tiago Pereira and musician Sílvio Rosado present a multi disciplinary film, based on those recordings. Assembled in real time, it portrays Lisbon as a collection of neighborhoods and migrant and emigrant cultures which merge and blend, where music plays a fundamental role. On the 26th, 9:30pm Carpintarias de São Lázaro, free admission.
Tiago Pereira, a documentary filmmaker, and Sílvio Rosado, a musician, produce an audiovisual performance based on musical practices or soundscapes recordings from a specific location. They are creating a living archive of local music/sound identity documents that can be accessed to keep the memory alive. On the other hand, they are deconstructing this same archive/memory, allowing the community to see and question itself. At the same time, they are creating a playful and entertaining space where one can dance a memory or follow a story.
