In 2018, after the exhibitions included in the Lisbon 2017 CIAC (Ibero-American Capital of Culture), a renovation took place in Carpintarias de São Lázaro's space. During this year, the project to adapt the building for it's use as a Cultural Center was carried out.

On January 24th 2019, Carpintarias de São Lázaro - Cultural Center have opened its doors permanently.
